Celebrating tradition, teamwork, and togetherness

On May 4th, 2025, Imperial Teas Group of Companies hosted a vibrant Avurudu Festival for our factory production team, honoring the spirit of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

This celebration featured many traditional Avurudu events and games such as Kanamutti Bindeema, Kotta Pora, bun-eating competitions, tug-of-war, and the “pinning the eye on the elephant” game. Competitions were also held to select the Avurudu Kumara and Avurudu Kumari. The winners were rewarded with various gifts and cash prizes. The entire event was organized by the management of the Imperial Teas Group, with enthusiastic participation from the production staff.

These festivities provide a meaningful opportunity to celebrate our rich cultural heritage, create lasting memories with coworkers, and carry forward the timeless traditions of Avurudu.
